What is the purpose of the research?
The purpose of this study is to investigate the experience of individuals receiving a diagnosis in persistent pain. This will also explore what individuals would have liked to have happened when they received their diagnosis; what support was given and what should have been given; and how recieving a diagnosis affected the experience of pain and the view of your sense of self. 

What does taking part involve?
Firstly, you will be asked to complete some questions regarding your experience with pain and recieving a diagnosis after having registering consent, this will take approximately 5 minutes. Then, you may be contacted by the primary researcher in order to arrange an interview to explore in greater depth your experiences of recieving a diagnosis. This interview will take approximately 30 minutes and will be compensated for with a £10 amazon voucher.

What information will be collected and who will have access to the information collected?
In this survey, answers to the questions and contact information necessary for arranging an interview will be collected. Contact information will be stored securely, used for no other purpose than for contacting to arrange interview, and will be deleted upon completion of the study. The interview will be recorded and transcribed. This information will be kept securely and be deleted as soon as possible, with only members of the research team having access to the data.

Do I have to take part?
Participation in this study is voluntary, and all data will be made anonymous.If you later wish to withdraw your data, you will give a personalized code, that you can use to withdraw at anytime by emailing the researcher.
